What has Ruined Guild Wars?
This question has brought about a debate which has made players point the finger at various things about the game. The following has been blamed from what I've read and these are my oppinions of them.
A-Net's ability to feel sorry for the new players and give them a free ride
Okay, I can see how this is considered unfair and just out right stupid. I mean, whatever happened to grinding and working to what you want? Well, from experience in playing WoW and LOTR online, I can say "I understand why they did this!" Grinding for your titles and just to level is down right annoying and who really wants to do it? When you grind for a week to level and get a title, it gets boring and then you don't want to play anymore. End of story. Therefore, I see this reason as a stupid reason since the players obviously never really played WoW or LOTR online.
A-Net's inability to listen to the PvE people and give the PVP people everything they want on a silver platter
I do agree, this has definately annoyed the heck out of the PvE people and it's kinda annoying when you've FINALLY found a nice, responcive build for PvE and then A-Net goes and says "No, this skill's too powerful for PvP, let's up the casting time and...OH yeah! We'll up the recharge time!" Then you have to go through heck to remake your build all over again! I see this as Valid but the changes are never that bad. I've had "Heal Party" messed with before and I've never really had a problem. Searing Flames is another but I've worked around these problems so honestly, stop complaining. If I can work around them and be totally hopeless, anyone can!
Heroes
This is my favorite reason...So let me get this straight, the "veterin" players of GW are complaining about having even more reliable monk than Alissia or Mhenlo (who sorry, I find them about as useful as a Herring when trying to cut down a tree) when there are no monks. Let me try to understand this: They're complaining about how they have the option of putting in a more capable semi-NPC than a henchie when there is no one in the town with the profession available? Yes, I can see how people are using them over live people but what about for those who solo? We don't want real people! They're FINALLY listening to the solo players! End of story! Besides, the EOTN heroes seem to be programmed even dumber than the heroes for NF!
With those three reasons on the table, no one has decided to blame my personal favorite...The Runner and The Lazy People who Hire Runners
Now, I will admit that I have paid runners to get me through certain missions HOWEVER, please understand that I have done the mission that I had paid to get done before on ANOTHER CHARACTER OF THE SAME PROFESSION. Whatever happened to doing the mission yourself? Whatever happened to saying "Okay, I can't solo this mission, I need a team of LIVE PEOPLE"? The players complain that they can't get people to do missions with them due to the heroes...well, how is that possible? There are plenty of people who want to do the missions but they don't want to do the mission, they just want to get a run through. So why are players blaming the heroes? When I'm in a town and I see countless people yelling "LFR" I end up typing "whatever happened to doing the mission yourself or with a group?" I get applauded for saying that in towns. Granted, this doesn't make me a popular monk but still, whatever happened to learning how to be good at your character? Whatever happened to doing these missions without a runner? Why are people on GW if they're only getting runs? Honestly!
If anything has ruined GW, it's the people, not A-Net. They have a good game and product on their hands. They just need to stop listening to the stupid people and start saying "Players, it's not us, it's you. STOP GETTING FLIPPING RUNS!"
