Article: Title Grinding – Faction Alliance Titles

For those of you who are not familiar with the Faction Alliance Title Tracks, they are the Kurzick and Luxons titles that many of the PvP players have on their characters. This title track is probably one of the most frustrating because of the high demand of faction points. The title track goes something like this:

(1) Kurzick/Luxon Supporter- 100,000 Faction Points
(2) Friend of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 250,000 Faction Points
(3) Champion of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 400,000 Faction Points
(4) Ally of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 550,000 Faction Points
(5) Sentinel of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 875,000 Faction Points
(6) Stewart of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 1,200,000 Faction Points
(7) Defender of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 2,500,000 Faction Points
(8 ) Bastion of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 3,750,000 Faction Points
(9) Champion of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 5,000,000 Faction Points
(10) Hero of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 7,500,000 Faction Points
(11) Savior of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 10,000,000 Faction Points

Seeing the 10,000,000 may make many people say “there is no way on this side of anywhere that I'm going to get that many points.” However, this is not as bad as many may think. Think of this like approaching a huge snarling dog on the other side of a fence. You may see it as being a big, scary dog but once you get to the other side of the fence, all the dog wants to do is sniff your hand and/or maybe lick your face.

To ease the feeling of doubt of ever achieving this title, perhaps it would help to not look at this in terms of Faction Points but to look at this in terms of the number of Jade/Amber.

(8 ) Bastion of the Kurzicks/Luxons- 750 Amber/Jade Shards- 3 full stacks of amber or jade
Elite armor for 8 characters

After looking at this in terms of how much Jade or Amber that you would actually need rather than looking at this in terms of how many points that you need, it makes it sound much better. One must remember however that one piece of jade or amber is no longer 1,000 faction points, it’s now 5,000.

Getting these faction points for amber or jade is not as hard as many people think. As I had explained in my article “How to get Jade or Amber without participating in an AB”, I explained how exactly to farm amber and jade however, I will quickly recap the ways to do this but I will edit out the ways that will not contribute to your faction title:

- Speaking to the priests outside the outposts and paying 100g for the Kurzick/Luxon Blessing (this can yield anywhere between 1500 – 1800 Faction points each run)
- Quests (especially the repeatable quests)
-Finishing the missions (this only works once per character)

Another way to do this is to participate in the dreaded Alliance Battles. These are by far the cheapest and perhaps the fastest way to farm Alliance points. The two best places to go for an alliance battle are Fort Aspenwood and the other is reachable via guild hall. Going to speak to the Luxon Ambassador who will send you to wherever the AB is taking place.

Alliance battles are very fast and often times very frustrating due to the fact that the Luxons tend to forget what they are doing and often times loose however, if participating in an Alliance Battle in Fort Aspenwood, just for participating, at the end, you can earn up to 1,500 faction points on top of the number of kills that your group makes (2500 for winning the battle). Just make sure to participate otherwise, the team may tag you as what’s known as a lecher and you cannot participate in any PvP activity until the curse wares off.

Now that you are able to see that getting the title is not as bad as one may think, you can now go out there and get the desired title of your choosing. Remember that in getting to the 4th rank of this series of titles for both, an award in your Hall of Monuments can be displayed. Again, the more titles and the more statues you have in your hall of Monuments, the more of a possible advantage that you will get in Guild Wars 2.
